Start Monitoring a List

Starting monitoring tells Signado to begin checking your contacts for buying signals. Until you start monitoring, your list is just stored contacts—no signal detection happens.

Two Monitoring Frequencies

Signado monitors contacts at two frequencies, each in its own dedicated workspace-level list:

Daily Monitoring

  • Checked every day
  • 10 credits per contact per day
  • For hot prospects where timing matters
  • Best for accounts ready for outreach

Weekly Monitoring

  • Checked once per week
  • 10 credits per contact per week
  • For accounts you're nurturing
  • Best for longer-term opportunities

Daily and weekly monitoring lists are permanent workspace-level lists. When you start monitoring, contacts are moved into one of these two lists (or stored for later).

How to Start Monitoring

  1. Go to Lists in the sidebar.
  2. Click on your list to open it.
  3. Click Start Monitoring.
  4. The monitoring wizard opens and proposes a Smart Split—an allocation of your contacts into daily, weekly, and stored buckets based on your available credits.
  5. Adjust the split if needed, then confirm.

On confirmation, Signado runs an initial enrichment on new contacts (40 credits each). After that, daily and weekly monitoring costs 10 credits per contact per cycle.

Why the Initial Cost

When you first monitor a contact, Signado runs a deep enrichment pass:

  • Recent job postings (hiring signals)
  • LinkedIn company activity
  • Funding history
  • News and announcements

This initial scrape costs 40 credits per new contact because it's resource-intensive. Contacts that were previously enriched skip this step and cost nothing to re-activate.

Check your credit balance in the sidebar before starting monitoring. The wizard will show the total credit cost before you confirm.

Adjusting Your Setup

You can move contacts between daily, weekly, and stored at any time by running the wizard again. Reducing monitored contacts frees up credits for other actions. Adding contacts increases your daily burn rate.
