Preview a Keyword Before Activating

A preview shows you what a keyword would find before you commit to it. You see real posts on that topic and the potential leads the selected mode would surface, so you can tell whether the keyword pulls your buyers or the wrong crowd. It costs 1 credit.

Why preview first

Activating a keyword spends 3 credits per lead it finds. A bad keyword can burn budget on people who will never fit. A 1 credit preview tells you that in under a minute, before any of that happens. You can preview a keyword while it is still paused, which is exactly the point.

Run a preview

  1. Go to Settings then Discovery.
  2. On the keyword's row, click Preview (1 cr).
  3. Wait about 10 to 60 seconds. The result appears under the keyword.

What you get back

The preview follows the keyword mode:

  • Post engagers shows matching posts with sample commenters, the kind of people who would become warm leads in engager mode.
  • Post authors shows matching posts and the person who wrote each post, the kind of person who would become a warm lead in author mode.

For each post you see:

  • The post author, their headline, and follower count.
  • A snippet of the post text.
  • How many comments it has.
  • The potential leads for the selected mode.

Reading the result

  • If the authors or commenters look like your buyers, turn the keyword on.
  • If they are students, job seekers, or people outside your market, edit or delete the keyword and try a sharper one.

Post engagers works best when matching posts have useful comment threads. Post authors can still be useful when the right people write relevant posts with few or no comments. See Post Authors vs Post Engagers for choosing the mode.
