TLDR: Pick tools by the step that is slow. Sales Navigator and Signado find who to contact, with Signado showing people who have a reason to talk now. Apollo, Kaspr and Evaboot get contact details. Waalaxy, Expandi, HeyReach, Dripify and lemlist automate outreach. Clay suits teams that build their own system.
The right LinkedIn lead generation tool depends on which step is slow for you. There are three: finding who to contact, getting their contact details, and reaching out. Most tools do one of them well. Start with the step that costs you the most hours each week.
| If this step is slow | Start with |
|---|---|
| Finding who to contact | Sales Navigator for filters, Signado for people with a reason to talk now |
| Getting emails and phone numbers | Apollo, Kaspr, or Evaboot |
| Sending connection requests and follow-ups | Waalaxy, Expandi, or Dripify, and HeyReach for many accounts |
| Running email and LinkedIn in one sequence | lemlist |
| No ready-made tool fits your process | Clay, if someone can build it |
Here's the catch. Most lists of LinkedIn lead generation tools are really lists of LinkedIn automation tools. They assume you already know who to write to. If you don't, automation only gets you ignored faster, and it puts your LinkedIn account at risk. Start with people who have a reason to talk now, then add contact details and outreach.
What does a LinkedIn lead generation tool do?
Software for finding clients on LinkedIn usually handles one of three steps. Some products help you find the right people. Others get their email address or phone number. A third group sends connection requests, messages and follow-ups for you. A few cover two steps, but almost none do all three well.

Finding people comes first, and it decides most results. Sales Navigator finds people by filters like job title, company size and region. Signado finds them by their LinkedIn activity: who posted about your topic, who commented on a competitor, which company is hiring for a role you help with. Filters tell you who fits. Activity tells you who is paying attention this week.
Timing matters too. LinkedIn's own 2022 InMail data found that people who had started a new job in the past 90 days were 62% more likely to accept an InMail (a paid LinkedIn message to someone you're not connected to).
Contact details come second. LinkedIn doesn't give you emails or phone numbers, so Apollo, Kaspr and Evaboot fill that gap for email outreach or calls.
Outreach is third. A LinkedIn automation tool sends connection requests, messages and follow-ups from your account on a schedule, often with email steps mixed in (multichannel outreach). Most account risk sits here, because the tool acts as you.
AI now shows up in every step. It scores leads against your ICP (ideal customer profile: the kind of company and person you sell to) and drafts personalized LinkedIn messages. Treat an AI draft as a first version: if it would still work with the company name removed, it's too generic.

How we picked and ranked these tools
We judged each tool on four things: which step it covers, how much risk it puts on your LinkedIn profile, what it costs a team of one to three people at list price, and how long setup takes.
The order follows the work. Finding who to contact comes first, because every later step depends on it. Then come outreach tools, contact data, and Clay, which can do a little of everything if you build it. Within each group, tools that suit a small team at a lower price rank higher.
Signado is our product. We placed it second, behind Sales Navigator, the search tool almost everyone starts from. Its reply numbers come from our own test, and competitor facts come from vendor pricing and help pages. We didn't run all 11 tools on one campaign, so each section tells you what to test.
The best LinkedIn lead generation tools in 2026
1. LinkedIn Sales Navigator: best for searching and saving the right accounts
Sales Navigator is LinkedIn's own paid search tool. You set filters and save people and companies to lists for simple lead management. No outside software touches your account.
It fits when standard search keeps showing the wrong people. Picture an SEO agency that serves dental groups in Germany: basic search can't narrow that market, but Sales Navigator's lead and account filters can, so fewer messages go to people who could never buy. Every plan includes 50 InMail credits a month.
A search shows at most 2,500 lead results or 1,000 account results. There are no emails or phone numbers, and CRM integration (syncing leads to your CRM) only comes with Advanced Plus, which has no public price.
Core costs $119.99 a month, or $89.99 a month billed yearly. Advanced is $159.99. The one-month free trial needs a card, and you only qualify with no paid LinkedIn plan and no trial in the past 365 days.
Use the trial to rebuild a list that looks like your five best clients. Keep it if you'd gladly message most results. Skip it if the real problem is that nobody replies, because a sharper filter won't fix timing. Our Sales Navigator alternatives guide covers cheaper options.
2. Signado: best for finding people with a reason to talk right now
Most lead lists are names that never asked for anything. Signado finds people who already gave you a reason to write, so your first line can answer something they said.
It watches posts about your topic and the people commenting on them, the audiences of competitors and creators your buyers follow, and the commenters or reactors on one post you paste in. A Hiring source finds companies posting LinkedIn jobs for a role you choose. Each lead arrives with the person, their company, what they said, and a score for how well they match your business.
In our LinkedIn comments test, starting from recent posts and comments got 78 replies from 149 messages, against 25 from 139 with classic targeting. That's 2.9 times the reply rate. Signado needs no LinkedIn login, cookie, or extension, so finding people adds no account risk.
Lite costs $29 a month per workspace for 1,000 credits, and a new lead costs 5. Send from Gmail or your own mail server, push leads to HeyReach or Instantly, or export a CSV. For more ways to spot people ready to talk, see our LinkedIn buying signal tools.
Add one competitor and one keyword, then message 20 leads after a week. Pair it with Waalaxy or Expandi if you want connection requests automated.
3. Waalaxy: best for simple, low-cost LinkedIn and email outreach
Waalaxy is a LinkedIn automation tool that sends invitations and follow-up messages for you. You connect LinkedIn to its web app, import people, and pick a ready-made sequence. Since July 1, 2026, it's fully cloud-based, with no Chrome extension, so campaigns run even when your laptop is closed.
It suits a founder who wants to automate LinkedIn follow-ups without a complex setup. Its pricing page says 75% of its users had never done LinkedIn outreach before. The payoff is plain: follow-ups go out on time, even in a week full of client work.
The pricing page showed euros, per user per month. Pro is €39 monthly or €19 billed yearly, Advanced €99 or €49, and Business €139 or €69. Every plan has a 14-day free trial, but there's no free plan. You need a paid subscription to import prospects and launch campaigns.
Check two limits. Pro caps invitations at 300 a month, and Advanced and Business at 800. Email steps, including cold email sequences and 500 email finder credits, only come with Business, so you need the top plan to combine LinkedIn and email.
Choose Waalaxy for cheap, easy LinkedIn outreach. Skip it if email is your main channel.
4. Expandi: best for cloud-based LinkedIn automation with email follow-ups
Expandi runs LinkedIn sequences from the cloud, mixing connection requests, messages and email follow-ups. You give it your LinkedIn email and password. It logs in from a dedicated IP address in your country (the internet address LinkedIn sees) and keeps the session alive with cookies.
It fits a small team where each person sends from their own profile, which is who Expandi says it's for. Once a sequence is set, follow-ups and email steps run without you.
Business costs $99 a month per seat, or $79 billed yearly. One seat is one LinkedIn account, and 10 or more seats get a custom Agency price. There's a 7-day trial.
Run the trial as one LinkedIn campaign on one profile, with a list you've already checked, and track acceptance and replies daily.
Choose Expandi to automate LinkedIn sequences with email follow-ups from the cloud. Skip it if handing over your password is a dealbreaker.
5. HeyReach: best for agencies sending from many LinkedIn accounts
HeyReach spreads your outreach across LinkedIn accounts and puts every reply in one inbox. You connect each account with its cookies (exported with a browser add-on called Cookie-Editor) or its login details. Then you bring your list of people.
Think of an agency running outreach for five clients, each from the client's own profile. That's five logins and five inboxes, and HeyReach turns them into one. It also has an API (a way for other software to connect), webhooks, and an MCP server that lets AI assistants like Claude work with your campaigns.
You pay per sender (one LinkedIn profile). Growth costs $79 a month each, or $63 billed yearly, dropping to $59 or $47 at 10 or more senders. Agency is $999 a month for 25 or 50 senders, and Unlimited is $2,999 for up to 300. HeyReach's homepage says the 14-day trial needs no card.
HeyReach doesn't send email itself. It hands email to Instantly or Smartlead, so budget for one of those. Agency and Unlimited need your own proxies (servers that give each account its own internet address).
Choose HeyReach when you manage several senders, and skip it for a single profile. Our HeyReach alternatives guide has more options.
6. Dripify: best for step-by-step LinkedIn drip campaigns
Dripify is LinkedIn automation built around drip campaigns: timed steps like an invitation, a message a few days later, then an email if there's no reply. It's cloud-based. You connect with your LinkedIn login or an optional Chrome extension, one profile per seat.
It fits someone who thinks in sequences. LinkedIn and email steps share one campaign, so your multichannel outreach lives on one screen, and an email finder is built in. Forgotten follow-ups cost replies, and a drip campaign stops that.
Pro costs $79 per user a month, or $59 billed yearly, with 100 email finder credits a month. Advanced is $99, or $79 yearly. The 7-day free trial needs no card and includes Advanced features.
Pro lists up to 75 connection requests a day. But its own help center says LinkedIn's weekly cap, which it estimates at about 100, kicks in first. Plan for about 100 a week.
Choose it to automate clear, step-by-step campaigns with email in the same flow. Skip it if you need many senders under one roof. See our Dripify alternatives for more.
7. lemlist: best when email leads and LinkedIn supports it
lemlist is an email outreach tool that adds LinkedIn steps and calls to the same sequence. Email carries the campaign, and LinkedIn steps fill the gaps: profile visits, invitations, messages, voice notes and InMail.
It suits a consultancy that gets most replies by email but wants prospects to see a familiar face on LinkedIn first. People place your name faster when they've already seen your profile.
LinkedIn steps need lemlist's Chrome extension, and you must stay logged into LinkedIn. Its LinkedIn automation runs through that extension, one profile per lemlist account.
The cheapest plan with LinkedIn steps is Multichannel at $109 per user a month, or $87 billed yearly. The Email plan ($69, or $55 yearly) has none, so check which plan you're testing. The 14-day trial includes 200 credits.
Choose lemlist if email is your main channel and LinkedIn plays support. Skip it if most replies come from LinkedIn, because the LinkedIn-first tools here cost less per user. Our lemlist alternatives guide compares more.
8. Apollo: best for contact data and email sequences in one place
Apollo is a large contact database with email sequences built in. Its Chrome extension works on LinkedIn: open a profile, see the email and phone number, and add the person to a list or sequence. It doesn't use your LinkedIn session to send anything.
It fits when you know who you want but can't reach them outside LinkedIn. An agency that spots a good marketing director can save her, get a work email, and start a sequence from the same page.
The free plan gives 75 credits per seat a month. Basic costs $49 per seat a month billed yearly, or $65 monthly, and Professional costs $79 or $99. Paid plans have a 14-day trial.
Free and Basic allow one mailbox per user and 250 emails a day. Credits don't roll over. And some Sales Navigator profiles don't show Apollo data, so test it on people you actually target.
Choose Apollo when contact details are missing. Don't make it your only source, though: it shows who fits your filters, not who is active this week. Our Signado and Apollo comparison shows how the two work together.
9. Kaspr: best for phone numbers and emails while you browse LinkedIn
Kaspr is a Chrome extension that shows emails and phone numbers on LinkedIn profiles. It sends no outreach.
It fits people who book meetings by phone. You browse LinkedIn as usual, open a profile, and the number is right there.
The free plan gives 15 B2B email credits, 5 phone credits and 5 direct-email credits a month, with a 100-lead export limit. The pricing page displayed Starter at $65 per user a month. The help center lists Starter at €59 (€45 billed yearly) and Business at €99 (€79).
Phone credits are the limit to watch. Starter includes 100 a month, and exports are capped at 12,000 a year. Use the free plan first and count how many numbers you get in your market.
Choose Kaspr if phone numbers matter to how you sell. Skip it if email is enough, because Apollo adds sequences on top.
10. Evaboot: best for clean Sales Navigator exports
Evaboot turns a Sales Navigator search or list into a clean spreadsheet with checked emails. It's a Chrome extension inside Sales Navigator, with an email finder, an email verifier, an API and an MCP server.
It fits when Sales Navigator is your main source and copying people out by hand eats your afternoon. Run a search, export it, and load the file into your email outreach tool or CRM.
Prices start at $29 a month for 400 credits, then $49 for 1,000 and $99 for 3,000, with free trial credits.
You need an active Sales Navigator seat, so add $119.99 a month if you don't have one. Each lead costs a credit even when no email is found. There are no phone numbers, and one search exports up to 2,500 leads.
Choose Evaboot when your Sales Navigator searches work and exporting is the slow part. Skip it if you don't use Sales Navigator.
11. Clay: best if someone on your team can build your own lead system
Clay is a web app for building your own lead lists and enrichment. Enrichment means adding missing details, like a work email or company size, to each record. You start from a list or LinkedIn URLs, add data columns, and write rules. It needs no LinkedIn login and sends no LinkedIn messages.
It fits a team with one person who enjoys building systems. Clay says it's for small teams building and automating prospecting workflows. Launch adds social-listening signals (tracking what people say about a topic), and Growth adds LinkedIn Ads audiences. A marketing automation consultant could enrich every row, then pass only good matches to outreach.
The free plan includes 500 actions and 100 data credits a month. Launch costs $185 a month, or $167 billed yearly, with a 14-day trial. Since March 11, 2026, Clay bills on two meters, actions and data credits, and either can run out first.
Free and Launch include no CRM integration. And someone has to fix the system when a data source changes.
Choose Clay if you have a builder and custom rules matter. Skip it if nobody on your team wants to own it.
How do you keep your LinkedIn account safe while using these tools?
Use as few tools inside your account as you can, keep volumes close to what a person would send, and never run two automation tools on one profile. LinkedIn bans third-party automation outright, so no setting makes it risk-free. Tools that never touch your account remove that risk for the finding step.
LinkedIn's help page on prohibited software and extensions says it doesn't permit "third party software, including 'crawlers', bots, browser plug-ins, or browser extensions" that "automate activity on LinkedIn's website." Accounts that break the rule can be restricted or shut down. Its page on invitation restrictions adds that if you send "an excessive number of invitations" and it suspects an automation tool, it "may suspend or restrict your account."
LinkedIn publishes no weekly number for connection requests. The "about 100 a week" in tool settings is a vendor estimate from Dripify's help center. An invitation restriction, LinkedIn says, typically lasts one week.
In practice:
- Run one LinkedIn automation tool per profile. Two tools on one profile stack their activity.
- Start new accounts and new tools at low volume, then raise it slowly.
- Watch your acceptance rate. If it falls, fix your list or note before adding volume.
- Move the finding step off your account. A tool that never connects to your profile can't get it restricted.
Our LinkedIn prospecting tools guide has a five-question check for any tool.
Which tools should you combine?
Combine one tool per step and stop there. A solo founder can find people and send from Gmail for well under $100 a month. An agency adds a multi-account sender. A team that books calls adds a phone data tool. Each extra tool should fix a step you can name.

Solo founder: under $100 a month
Signado Lite ($29) finds people with a reason to talk, gets their emails, and drafts messages with AI. Send from the Gmail or Google Workspace account you already use. To automate connection requests too, add Waalaxy Pro at €39 a month (€19 billed yearly). Total: $29, or $29 plus €39 with Waalaxy on monthly billing.
Volume isn't your problem at this size. You need 20 good conversations, not 200 sends.
Agency running outreach for several clients
Use one Sales Navigator Core seat ($119.99) to build each client's list, Evaboot ($49 for 1,000 credits) to export it with emails, and HeyReach to send from each client's LinkedIn profile (five senders: $395 monthly). Total: about $564 a month, plus Instantly or Smartlead for email steps.
If a client's buyers are active on LinkedIn, push Signado leads straight into HeyReach instead of exporting a cold list.
Team that needs phone numbers
Three people who book calls. Signado Starter ($59, one workspace for the team) finds who to call and why. Kaspr Starter ($65 per user, $195 for three) shows each person's number on LinkedIn. Total: $254 a month.
Want email sequences too? Apollo Basic costs the same $65 per seat monthly and includes them, so test both and keep the one that finds more numbers.
How much do LinkedIn lead generation tools cost?
Most tools in this list cost $29 to $185 a month for one person at list price. What moves the bill is the unit you pay for: each user, each LinkedIn account, each workspace, or each credit you spend. Paying yearly takes about 10% to 50% off, depending on the vendor.
The unit matters most. Per-user and per-account prices grow with every person or profile you add. Signado charges per workspace, so a team shares one plan and one pool of credits. Evaboot and Clay charge by credits or actions, so the bill follows how much you export or enrich.
Yearly plans are cheaper but lock you in, so pay monthly until a tool proves itself.
At monthly list prices:
| Tool and plan | 1 person a month | 3 people a month | You pay per |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales Navigator Core | $119.99 | $359.97 | User |
| Signado Lite | $29 | $29, shared credits | Workspace |
| Waalaxy Pro (euros) | €39 | €117 | User |
| Expandi Business | $99 | $297 | LinkedIn profile |
| HeyReach Growth | $79 | $237 | LinkedIn profile |
| Dripify Pro | $79 | $237 | User |
| lemlist Multichannel | $109 | $327 | User |
| Apollo Basic | $65 | $195 | User |
| Kaspr Starter | $65 | $195 | User |
A team of three may outgrow Lite's 1,000 credits. Starter ($59, 2,500 credits) and Growth ($99, 5,000) add room at the same price, however many people share the workspace. See every plan on the Signado pricing page.
How to test a tool before you pay
Give every LinkedIn tool the same one-week test: one audience, one offer, and a fixed list of 50 people. Most free trials here last 7 or 14 days, and Sales Navigator's lasts a month, so a week fits inside all of them. Count results, not features.
On day 1, write down who you're targeting and what a good reply looks like, then load 50 people you'd be glad to work with. Tie each first message to something real about the person. Let it run at low volume until day 5, with no second tool on the same profile.
On days 6 and 7, count accepted connection requests, replies, meetings booked, and cost per reply (the monthly price divided by four weeks of replies). A $79 tool that brings 6 replies a week costs about $3.30 per reply. Compare that with your current method. If the tool writes AI drafts, also count how many you'd send unchanged.
For a rough baseline, Expandi's own data from 13.2 million connection requests (May 2025 to April 2026) shows 28.5% accepted, 3.0% replying to the connection note, and 10.4% replying to messages. It's one vendor's data, but it shows whether you're in a normal range.
Stop the test early if one of these happens:
- LinkedIn shows a warning or restricts your invitations. Pause, and don't move the account to another tool that week.
- Fewer than 1 in 7 invitations are accepted after 100 sends, about half Expandi's average. Fix your list or note.
- Replies come from people outside your market. That's a finding problem, and a faster sender won't fix it.
Keep the tool if it beat your current method on cost per reply from people you'd want as clients. If it didn't, change the list before you change the tool.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best way to generate leads on LinkedIn?
Start from conversations, not lists. Post about the problem you solve, comment where your buyers already talk, and reply to people who engage by picking up their point. Our guide on how to get clients on LinkedIn covers the full method.
Can you generate leads on LinkedIn for free?
Yes, if you pay with time. Standard LinkedIn search, your own posts and comments, and hand-written messages cost nothing and show whether your buyers are active there. Clay, Kaspr and Apollo have free plans for small amounts of data, and the outreach tools here offer free trials of 7 to 14 days.
Do you need Sales Navigator for LinkedIn lead generation?
No. Of the tools in this list, only Evaboot needs a Sales Navigator seat, and the rest work with a standard LinkedIn account or none at all. Buy Sales Navigator when standard search can't narrow your market enough to fill a week of outreach.
What's the difference between a lead generation tool and an automation tool?
A lead generation tool decides who to contact and how to reach them. An automation tool repeats actions for you, like invitations and follow-ups from your account. Many claim both, so test it: if it needs your LinkedIn login, cookies or an extension, it acts inside your account and LinkedIn's rules apply.
Which LinkedIn lead generation tools don't need your LinkedIn login?
Signado never connects to your LinkedIn account, and Clay's workflows and Apollo's database and sequences work without it. Evaboot and Kaspr don't ask for your password but run as browser extensions while you're logged in, and LinkedIn's software rule names extensions. Dripify, HeyReach, Expandi and Waalaxy work inside your connected account, so ask where your session is stored before connecting.
Pick one step and test it this week
Look at last week and find the step that ate the most hours. Fix that one first. If it was finding who to contact, start a Signado trial, add one competitor and one keyword, and see who in your market is talking this week.
