How Exclusions Work
Exclusions help you avoid paying for people you already know, existing customers, competitors, companies you never want to sell to, or leads from countries you do not serve.
You manage them from Exclusions in the main sidebar at /exclusions. Old Settings links redirect to this page automatically.
What you can exclude
You can add three kinds of exclusions:
- LinkedIn profile URL for a specific person.
- Company for everyone Signado can verify at that company.
- Country for leads whose LinkedIn location matches that country.
Profile exclusions are exact URL matches. Company exclusions are confirmed against a LinkedIn company page when possible, so you can see the name, logo, and LinkedIn URL before activating the exclusion.
For a country, choose one already found on your leads or type the country name yourself.
What happens during Discovery
Signado checks your exclusion list twice.
First, it checks LinkedIn profiles and companies it already knows. A match is blocked before you pay for the lead.
Then, after Discovery finds the person's country and current company, it checks again. Country matches are refunded automatically in full. A brand-new person whose excluded company is only confirmed at this point costs 1 credit instead of the normal 5 credits.
| Match | What Signado does | Final cost |
|---|---|---|
| Known person by LinkedIn URL | Skips the person before creating a lead | 0 credits |
| Company Signado already knows | Skips the person before creating a paid lead | 0 credits |
| First encounter at an excluded company | Hides the lead and refunds 4 of the normal 5 credits | 1 credit |
| Excluded country | Refunds all 5 credits and hides the lead by default | 0 credits |
A normal discovered lead costs 5 credits. The first encounter at an excluded company costs 1 credit when Signado has to check the person's profile once to confirm the company. This is a reduced rate, not an additional charge.
After that person has been confirmed at the excluded company, future sightings are blocked for free before another discovery charge.
Country exclusions work after Discovery finds the person's location. Signado returns all 5 credits automatically and hides the lead. In Warm Leads, open the Excluded filter and choose Only excluded or Show all to reveal the locked entry later.
Add a person exclusion
- Go to Exclusions in the main sidebar.
- Paste the person's LinkedIn profile URL in the LinkedIn profile box.
- Click Add.
Signado cleans up the URL and adds the person immediately.
Add a company exclusion
- Go to Exclusions in the main sidebar.
- Type the company name or paste its LinkedIn company URL in the Company box.
- Click Resolve.
- Review the company card.
- Click Confirm when the match is correct.
If Signado cannot verify the company, go to its LinkedIn page and paste the last part of the URL, like signado from linkedin.com/company/signado. Unverified companies do not block leads.
Add a country exclusion
- Go to Exclusions in the main sidebar.
- Select Country.
- Choose a country already found on your leads, or type its name.
- Click Add.
New leads from that country are refunded automatically and hidden after Signado finds their location.
Manage your list
Your exclusion count appears at the top of the page, like 3 / 100 exclusions. Companies, LinkedIn profiles, and countries share the same limit.
- Free: 2 exclusions
- Starter: 15 exclusions
- Growth: 100 exclusions
- Scale: 300 exclusions
Use the trash button next to an exclusion to remove it. Removing an exclusion does not change leads already processed. Future Discovery runs stop using that exclusion.
