Signal Scoring & Decay

Every signal a Deep Dive finds carries a score that helps you prioritize. Scores reflect both the signal's strength and how recently it occurred.

Score Bands

Each signal shows a score band indicating its current relevance:

  • Hot: High-value signal. Act now, this is the right time to reach out.
  • Warm: Strong signal. Priority follow-up within days.
  • Interested: Moderate signal. Good for nurturing campaigns.
  • Cool: Weak or old signal. Lower priority, but still usable context.

The score band appears on every signal card, color-coded for quick scanning.

Time Decay

Signals lose relevance over time. A funding announcement from yesterday is more actionable than one from three months ago. Signado weighs each signal by age when scoring it.

Different signal types decay at different rates:

Fast Decay (days to weeks)

  • Executive posts: LinkedIn posts become stale quickly.
  • News: Press coverage has a short relevance window.

Medium Decay (weeks to months)

  • Hiring: Job postings stay relevant while roles are open.
  • Product Launch: New products matter for a few months.
  • Partnership: Alliance announcements have a moderate shelf life.

Slow Decay (months)

  • Funding: Investment rounds stay relevant longer.
  • Leadership Change: New executives take time to make changes.

Why Freshness Matters

When you see a Hot signal, it means the combination of signal strength AND recency makes it highly actionable right now. A funding round might start as Hot, become Warm after a few weeks, and eventually Cool after several months.

When reviewing what a Deep Dive found, start with the freshest signals. A fresh signal at any score band is worth a look, and it gives the AI a more timely opener.
